No 150 Luminara

Luminara captures a quieter form of fantasy, one wrapped in fog, silence and hidden stories. Emerging gently from reflective waters, she wears an elaborate emerald top hat overflowing with clocks, gemstones, feathers and mechanical treasures, each detail carefully woven into Bonez’s unmistakable style.

The pale forest backdrop softens the piece with an almost ethereal glow, allowing the vibrant greens, pinks and golds to drift forward like fragments from a dream. Her flowing dark hair contrasts beautifully against the mist-filled environment, giving the composition movement and depth while maintaining its stillness.

There is a sense of curiosity within the piece, as though Luminara is searching for something just beyond view. The intricate goggles conceal her eyes, adding mystery while inviting the viewer deeper into the artwork’s layered symbolism and detail. Once again Bonez has crafted a unique blend of thousands upon thousands of tiny 1mm micro dots giving light shade and and depth, a masterpiece of ” Milliers Des Points “

Delicate, powerful and richly imaginative, Luminara feels like a character pulled from a forgotten fairytale powered by clockwork and moonlight.

Inspiration

Unusually, Bonez got the inspiration for “Luminara” from the works of another artist, Vladimir Tretchikoff –        ( 1913 – 2006 ) He was born in Kazakhstan, a self taught artist, Vladimir totally transformed the normal mans  appreciation of art during the latter part of the 60’s and 70’s to such a degree that at the time he was rumoured to be the worlds richest artist after Picasso. The two images below are typical of the genre with prints selling in the millions. His 1952 oil painting ” The Green Lady ” went on to become one of the best selling art prints of the 20th century. The popularity was thought to have been generated by his pictures bringing a sense of the exotic and colour at a time when normal people did not travel themselves to exotic places. Perhaps the demise in popularity followed the rise in affordable foreign travel when you could ctually go and see the exotic for yourself rather than just look at an image on your living room wall. Bonez remembers his parents having ” Balinese Girl ” hanging in the living room in the swinging sixties and tried to weave that memory with his own off-the-wall style to create ” Liminara “
